As the Transportation Drainage Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. Each day, you will have the opportunity to work with a team on exciting transportation projects. Our Ohio transportation team with offices in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati is seeking a mid-level Drainage Engineer to work on transportation engineering projects. In this position you will primarily work on roadway and highway drainage for alignment studies, design concept reports, and final construction documents. On occasion you may also be engaged on roadway engineering design activities, and candidates with even limited prior roadway design experience would be viewed favorably. Typical activities and products may include performing hydraulic computations, providing detailed calculations, construction plan preparation, drainage report preparation, and specifications and estimates. Some hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include HEC-RAS, HY8, Inroads Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, SWMM5, Storm CAD, and others required to meet State and Federal requirements. Under the mentorship of mid to senior level staff, you will have the opportunity to exercise judgment and make recommendations in the development and creation of transportation plans for complex, multi-disciplined projects. Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
A minimum of 2 years experience working in hydrology and hydraulic calculations, roadway drainage design, flood-control and watershed modeling
Have an Ohio PE license, or have the necessary education and work experience to be able to attain an Ohio PE license within the next year
Must be familiar with CAD design using Microstation
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience working on ODOT projects
Familiarity with ODOT Drainage design manuals and preferred software
