The Schneider maintenance team has an immediate need for a skilled and safety mindedService Truck Technician to perform on-site truck, container and trailer repairs. As a member of our maintenance team, you will work on-site at one of our customer locations and complete routine repair work in the areas of tire changing, minor/moderate engine work along with electrical, hydraulic and accident repairs. You will be expected to make good value decisions following our established guidelines. Additionally, you will interface with on-site customers and other Schneider associates. Frequently, you will be the only maintenance person on-site and are managed by a remote leader.

Our preferred candidate will have:
High School diploma/GED or relevant work experience required (2-years of industry experience)
Must have a valid drivers license and meet the Schneider hiring criteria (includes annual DMV checks)
Annual DOT physical required, must meet Schneider hiring criteria
Ability to work autonomously and be self directed
Basic skills with windows based computer systems
Technical reading aptitude (i.e. electronic service bulletins; auto repair manuals)
Excellent customer service, oral and written communication
Basic welding skills
Ability to provide own basic hand tools
Must be Annual Vehicle Inspector Certified (per DOT requirements) and Brake Inspector Certified (per DOT requirements)
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and written, and have the ability to read and understand English
Ability to provide own tools within 30 days of hire (The Shop leader will cover required tools.)
